Coworking, private office or registered address: which?

Four questions settle it. They are about how often you are there, how many of you there are, how many confidential conversations you have and how many visitors you receive.

People talking on a busy coworking floor, under the title: coworking, private office or registered address, which

The choice goes wrong when you start from price. It goes right when you start from use. Four questions are enough, and you answer them by looking at a real week rather than an imagined one.

The four questions

  1. 1.How many days a week do you genuinely need a desk?
  2. 2.How many people work together in the same place?
  3. 3.How many confidential conversations do you have each week?
  4. 4.How many visitors do you receive each month?

What the answers give you

  • Zero to one day a week, no visitors: registered address.
  • One to two days, one person: open seating.
  • Three to five days, one to four people: dedicated desk.
  • Five days, two to four people with confidential calls: Dedicated Desk Plus.
  • Five days, five people or more, or regular hosting: private office.

The most common mistakes

The first is taking a private office for two people because it looks serious. You pay for unused walls, and you would have the same credibility with a dedicated desk and a meeting room booked when you host.

The second is staying on open seating with four people to save money. The team loses time finding seats every morning, and the accumulated day passes cost more than a subscription.

The usual path

The commonest progression is registered address, then open seating once you start coming in, then a dedicated desk when attendance becomes daily, then a private office once the team passes four or five. Staying in the same place at each step avoids changing your official address, your connection and your habits.

The seven formats at KinKonnects

The simplest route is to come for a day on open seating and decide afterwards. Call +243 961 000 077.

FAQ

Can you change format mid subscription?

Yes. Check the notice period that applies to a change, which is usually short in a managed space.

What suits a team of three?

Dedicated desks in most cases, with a meeting room allowance. A private office tends to justify itself from five.

Can a registered address be combined with day passes?

Yes, and it is often the cheapest combination for a structure that comes in once or twice a month.
