Working in Ngaliema: access, parking and landmarks

In Kinshasa people navigate by landmark more than by address. A map showing an avenue helps less than a sentence saying at the OUA and Massamba crossing, opposite that building.

Exactly where it is

KinKonnects is at Tour D, The Promenade II, first and second floors, at the junction of avenues OUA and Massamba in Ngaliema. The Pullman is the most useful landmark for visitors who do not know the area.

Getting there

• From Gombe: twenty to forty minutes depending on the hour. Avoid the late afternoon exodus.
• From N'djili airport: it is a long crossing, allow generously for a first appointment.
• By shared transport: give the OUA and Massamba junction rather than the building name.

Parking

On site parking is one of the concrete advantages of this district over Gombe, where parking three cars for one meeting becomes a problem in itself. For a ten person meeting, say in advance how many vehicles are coming.

What is nearby

Ngaliema is residential and quieter than Gombe, which shows in the background noise and in how easily you move around in the middle of the day. There is somewhere to have lunch close by and everyday services are reachable without crossing the city.

Gombe concentrates head offices, banks and government, and is priced accordingly. Ngaliema gives more space and parking for the same budget, at the cost of a drive to meetings in the centre. The right answer depends on where your clients come from, not where you would rather sit.
